MDIA Title with 8-7 Victory Over Colorado - 5/13/06
Dallas, TX - The #1 Colorado State Rams trailed RMLC rival #3 Colorado
7-5 midway through the fourth quarter in the USL-MDIA Championship Game and the Buffaloes
were certainly playing well enough to beat CSU for the first time since 2000. But the
Rams' offense finally woke up and reeled off three goals in just over five minutes to
claim their fourth national title since 1999. The Rams were led once again by junior midfielder
Pat Bird (Bishop O'Dowd HS; Oakland, CA), who scored the tying goal and assisted the game-winner
with under two minutes to go for CSU's first MDIA title since 2003.
#1 Colorado State Moves
to USL-MDIA Finals with 12-7 Win vs. #5 BYU - 5/12/06
Dallas, TX - After losing an 11-8 decision in Denver, CO in March, the
#1 Colorado State Rams avenged their only MDIA loss of the year against RMLC rival Brigham
Young in the national semifinals. The Rams scored three goals in each quarter and got
points from 11 different players in a complete and balanced effort to move to their seventh
MDIA championship game. They will face another RMLC team as the #3 Colorado Buffaloes
defeated #10 UC-Santa Barbara in the other semifinals by a score of 6-5.

Dallas, TX - The #8 Arizona Laxcats led 2-1 in the first quarter, but ended
up chasing the #1 Colorado State Rams for most of the day as the Rams pulled away for
an 11-7 victory on Wednesday afternoon. Junior midfielder Pat Bird (Bishop O'Dowd HS;
Oakland, CA) scored three of his four goals in the fourth quarter as the Rams outscored
Arizona 4-2 in the final frame. Colorado State moves on to the USL-MDIA final four where
they will do battle with RMLC rival Brigham Young on Friday night.

#2 Colorado State Recaptures
RMLC Crown with 8-7 Win over Colorado - 4/29/06
Logan, UT - One year after losing 8-7 to Brigham Young in the RMLC championship
game, the #2 Colorado State Rams reclaimed the RMLC title by beating #5 Colorado in Logan,
UT by the exact same 8-7 score. CSU posted their second win in as many weeks against the
Buffaloes after a 9-6 decision at INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium in the Rocky Mountain
Lacrosse Showdown last weekend. CSU held a 7-3 lead at one point in the third quarter
and were able to hold off a Buffalo rally that tied the game at 7. In what has become
a recurring theme this season, Tyler Treece (Upper Arlington HS; Columbus, OH) finished
a fast break on a feed from Danny Stevens (Suffern HS; Suffern, NY) with 2:36 left in
the game and the Rams salted away the rest of the time for the victory.
#2 Colorado State Scores Seven in
Fourth to Defeat #12 Utah in RMLC Semis - 4/28/06
Logan, UT - The #2 Colorado State Rams needed seven fourth period goals
to put away the #12 Utah Utes in a Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference semifinal game on
Friday evening. The Utes scored the first three goals of the game and played their best
game against the Rams since a 5-4 upset over CSU in 2003. Utah led 8-7 at one point in
the fourth quarter before the Rams scored seven of the next eight goals to put the game
away and win 14-10.
#2 Colorado State Wins Showdown
Slugfest 9-6 Over #5 Colorado - 4/22/06
Denver, CO - In front of a loud and boisterous crowd of almost 4,000 people,
the #2 Colorado State Rams erased a 3-0 deficit and defeated the #5 Colorado Buffaloes
9-6 at INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium on Saturday night. The win was the third straight
for the Rams in the annual Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Showdown and it extended their winning
streak over Colorado to 12 games. It also gives CSU the #1 seed in the upcoming RMLC playoffs
by virtue of their out of conference victory over UC-Santa Barbara.
#6 Brigham Young Upsets
#1 Colorado State 11-8 - 4/14/06
Denver, CO - Playing in the University of Denver's Peter Barton Lacrosse
Stadium, the #1 Colorado State Rams and the #6 Brigham Young University Cougars renewed

11-8 upset victory.

Oakland Grizzlies 10-2 in the second half to come away with a 14-5 victory on a sunny

to the game.
Colorado State Too Much
for Division B Northern Colorado - 3/29/06
Fort Collins, CO - Colorado State's second home game of the year against
the Northern Colorado Bears was held up by a lightening alarm on campus that delayed the
start of the game for about ten minutes. Once the clouds dissipated and the sun came out,
the only storm left was the Colorado State offense as the Rams rained shots on the UNC
goal for much of the first quarter en route to a 5-0 lead after one quarter. CSU scored
11 goals in the second period to make the halftime score 16-1 against Division B's #13
team. The Rams outscored the Bears 5-1 in the second half for a 21-2 win.
Treece and Stevens Score
7 Points Each as CSU Outruns Arizona State 15-6 - 3/25/06
Fort Collins, CO - #1 Colorado State led 7-5 early in the third quarter
over the visiting #20 Arizona State Sundevils before going on a six-goal run that ended
the suspense on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Fort Collins. CSU got a stellar performance
from their attack unit as Tyler Treece (Upper Arlington HS; Columbus, OH) and Danny Stevens
(Suffern HS; Suffern, NY) exploded for seven points a piece while Campbell Diebolt (Central
Bucks East; Downingtown, PA) pitched in with three points as well. While the Sundevils
battled hard throughout the game, CSU simply had too much depth as this physical game
wore into its latter stages.

Lakewood, CO - The newly anointed #1 Colorado State Rams scored two goals
in the first two minutes of the game and staked a 17-0 lead through three quarters against
RMLC foe Utah State on Friday evening. Everyone on the roster got significant minutes
and 13 players registered at least a point as the Rams dominated every statistical category
against the Aggies in Lakewood, CO.
#2 Colorado State Downs Missouri
14-5 - 3/20/06
Lakewood, CO - After a snowstorm hit the Front Range over the weekend and
rendered all fields snowbound, the #2 Colorado State Rams had to scramble to find a field
location for their game against the visiting Missouri Tigers. Luckily for both teams,
they were able to secure an indoor turf facility in west Denver at the last minute to
keep the game as scheduled. Colorado State was able to fight off their Spring Break hangover
and beat the Tigers 14-5 in their first on-field action since their 17-3 victory over
Stanford last Tuesday.
#2 Colorado State Blows Out
Stanford 17-3 - 3/14/06
Palo Alto, CA - The #2 Colorado State Rams jumped all over the Stanford
Cardinal by scoring four goals in the first seven minutes of the game and never looked
back en route to a 17-3 win. Thirteen different Rams scored points in the victory as everyone
on the travel squad got time in the game.
Notre Dame de Namur (Div.
II) Downs Colorado State 12-8 - 3/13/06
Novato, CA - Division II Notre Dame de Namur raced out to a 5-2 lead after
the end of the first quarter and never looked back as they outpaced the #2 Colorado State
Rams for a 12-8 victory on Monday afternoon. The game was played about an hour north of
San Francisco at San Marin High School in Novato, CA under intermittent rain showers.
CSU closed the gap to 8-7 early in the third quarter but were unable to get on top of
the Argonauts and fell to 1-1 on their second trip to California this season.
#2 Colorado State Beats #1
Sonoma State in Overtime for Second Straight Year - 3/11/06
Rohnert Park, CA - The #2 Colorado State Rams used a six-goal second quarter
and got a huge goal from sophomore Ryan MacDonald (Smokey Hill HS; Aurora, CO) with 3:37
left in overtime to beat the #1 Sonoma State Seawolves 11-10 in Rohnert Park. Ten different
Rams registered at least a point as CSU beat Sonoma in overtime for the second consecutive
year.
Bird and Treece Score
Three Each to Propel #2 Colorado State Over Div. III Colorado College 9-3 -
3/4/06
On a warm day at Colorado College's Washburn Field, the #2 Colorado State
Rams outscored the Colorado College Tigers 5-1 in the second half en route to their third
consecutive victory over CSU head coach Flip Naumburg's Alma Matter. The Rams got three
goals apiece from sophomore attackman Tyler Treece (Upper Arlington HS; Columbus, OH)
and junior midfielder Pat Bird (Bishop O'Dowd HS; Oakland, CA) as they slowly distanced
themselves from a young and rebuilding Tiger team.
#2 CSU Undone by Five-Goal Whittier
Run - 2/25/06
The Colorado State Rams held a three-goal advantage in the fourth quarter
against Division III Whittier, but the Poets scored five goals in just over five minutes
to come away with a hard fought 12-10 victory on a sunny Saturday afternoon in California.
With the game tied or within one goal for most of the day, #2 Colorado State scored four
in a row at the start of the fourth quarter to turn a 7-6 deficit into a 10-7 lead, but
they were unable to stave off Whittier's potent offense at the end of the game.
#2 Colorado State Holds on for 6-5
Win Over #3 UCSB - 2/23/06
In their first spring action of 2006, the #2 ranked Colorado State Rams
scored the first three goals of the game against the #3 UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos and held
off a furious fourth quarter rally to win 6-5 at UCSB's Harder Stadium on Thursday night.
UCSB had a two-man advantage with :45 seconds left in the game, but a key save by senior
goaltender Pete Jokisch (Overland Park, KS; Rockhurst Jesuit) and some gritty defensive
work by the man-down unit gave the Rams an important season opening victory while handing
the Gauchos their first home loss in over three seasons.
Rams Headed to SoCal: Colorado
State Anxious to Kick Off 2006 - 2/21/06
After seven straight years reaching the USL-MDIA Final Four, Colorado State's
run was stopped in 2005 after self-reporting an eligibility violation when the team discovered
a player who briefly dropped below 12 credits during the season. The MDIA national board
barred the 18-1 Rams from the national tournament and ended their other unprecedented
run of six straight championship games. CSU, ranked #2 in the preseason MDIA poll, finally
gets a chance at redemption as they head to Southern California for a two-game road trip
this weekend.
