HART TO HART

I wonder if anyone remembers that one.  Holy Cow!  Anyway, this will be a week of heart to hearts for me.  I mean to talk individually with several, well, individuals, and in the process get with whatever their plan is for themselves as lacrosse players and or student athletes. Whoever they are and whatever they need, I want to help them to the next place.  If they have a plan, how can I be of assistance? If they don't have a plan, my aim is to get them one, and if they don't have the idea of getting one any time soon then I plan to get a plan to get them gone.  I don't know if any of that particular plan makes any sense, but not one red squiggly came upon my computer screen as I finger picked away, so I guess I'm good to go.

WHO'S YOUR DADDY?

We have a tournament here a week from Saturday, and then another one in Vegas 4 weeks from now.  This weekend they (players) can go camping, home, fishing, or whatever.  There will be no Saturday scrimmage.

My aim for the here-and-now of Fall ball is to find out more about our potential core and what it might be.  I want that crucial density number as large as it has ever been for the coming '07 season.  To that end I want as many 'believers' as I can get, all hanging around together as early as now, and believing in one another as much as possible.  Sounds simple, doesn't it? Oy boy, if only it really were.

We will need the playing depth of a large group to endure the rigors of this violent game and the intense schedule we/they will face this spring.  I always think about that , but to me it (big core group) is now about so much more than endurance, however.  When you still have enough real FAMILY guys remaining in the mix, then you can always move 'forward' to the next place that you want to move to, or in some cases are forced by circumstances to go.

SOMEWHERE IN THE BUBBLE

I believe that team charisma does exist, and maybe too that it is okay for it to be a part of sports and sports teams.  I think it (charisma) is a real living thing, out there/here in the universe, almost tangible, something that can be had, too, but only for a price.  The brighter the stars you have in your universe the easier it is to 'pay' that team entry fee, no doubt, but it is indeed available to all teams in some way or other.  The power of many working together makes it so.

RELATIVITY IN AN EVER EXPANDING UNIVERSE or When Freud meets Frankenstein instead of Einstein

My theory/theme for this CSU lacrosse season might be something like this: You can never know what your team or an individual who is part of it might have to face, but when you have true depth in team character your team's positive energy will never be forced to take a step back, no matter what obstacle or hurdle is put in front of it.

My focus is on building this large sized team character. It is achieved (theory) through individuals working as one, truly sharing a mission.
