PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
When all is said and done I am a pure disciple of the theory that practice makes prefect.
You cannot invent a final product without somewhat simulating whatever it is that you want
to achieve. Along those lines, the more better that practice is, the more confidence I carry
to the next day, whether it is another practice or a real lacrosse game.
All I need in order to have the kind of practices I want is available field space. It seems
simple enough, but it never is.
ROCK MY WORLD
With Rock-it Pocket, the lacrosse stick business, we have been growing, both internally
(number of employees, etc.) and in bottom line potential over the past couple of years.
Right now the business possibilities are a little ahead of our manufacturing capabilities.
In other words, we have been behind production wise for at least 4 months. Its great
to be busy, but the plan was not ever to be on the phone every day ($) apologizing
for what we cant do, and then upgrading everyones shipping ($) at no charge
(to them) to placate irate customers as we have been.
Part of how I am going about fixing this is by teamwork. We are not too "fat"
here, nor do we need another one of these or those. No, in my opinion, which isnt
all that business brilliant I suppose, what we are lacking can be fixed by practice. We
need to work together as a team in a way that fills business needs as they are, and while
creating new avenues for future commerce as well.
MOANING LISA
All the people who are worth using as a success model always have a plan. Leonardo Da Vinci?
Here is a guy that did so many preliminary drawings for every thought he might have ever
had that it is almost amazing that he ever actually finished painting the Mona Lisa, and
he was doing all that more than 500 years ago.
If I learned anything by giving Tony Robbins (life coach) several thousand dollars of my
money back in the early nineties, it was that knowing and getting what you want in life
requires defining exactly what those things are. Motivation can come from anywhere, but
knowing the truth about ones own future or present self comes from just one place,
and that is from inside, and from practice if you will.
Ask a good question and you will get a good answer. Ask a stupid question, and sure enough
you will often get a matching moronic response. Try it at home.
MY CROSS (lacrosse?) TO BARE
I think everyone has his own "cross to bear" in life. Many have bigger ones to
carry than mine, let there be no doubt. I could die tomorrow or thirty years from now, but
either way I got a pretty good deal overall, and any way you look at it.
Having said all that, why is it that the thing I want the most (own lacrosse field to use
whenever I want) in life continues to elude me into my golden years? So Tony, no matter
how much positive goal setting energy I put into reducing my personal field of stress, I
just cant seem to get the job done. Help!
