GLOBAL SWARMING

Every day I look outside and see all these very usable-for-practicing weather conditions, but unfortunately we have no field to use them on. Later when we do have field availability there is a great likelihood that the weather might not be so pleasant. Colorado has always been screwed up for prognosticating any kind of seasonal weather patterns and temperatures, but in light of modern life and other unpredictabilities it is the time to forget about grass and all that and get on to exclusively artificial surfaces for playing everything on. I am sure that we will be the last team in America to have one available that we don’t have to travel to and or rent..

THE NEED FOR SCRIMMAGE SPEED

I feel the very strong need for a full field scrimmage. It feels like we haven’t played a game in two years with all the miscellaneous team aches and pains that we have endured since last May. I’m not sure how our team task could possibly be any harder than it really is. We must make and I must sell an intra-squad scrimmage product over the next three Saturdays (weather permitting) that will work to prepare us to REALLY play real games against teams that have been practicing outside and playing games for a month longer. But hey, where would you rather be?

BUFF MY BUTT

We don’t have a pre-season scrimmage with another team. I had asked our nearest neighbor on several occasions to renew an old tradition of playing an early game or scrimmage with us. We had done it for years, but not since the latest regime arrived. Apparently the neighbor would rather play a scrimmage with CC down there in Colorado Springs or whatever. At least that is what they are doing. Meanwhile my earlier requests were simply ignored. I have a cell phone, thank you very much. I do have some partial memory left, too, so I will remember that.

RAIN ON THE SCARECROW (Mellencamp)

In reading this over, it sounds like I'm having a bad day, but really I'm not. I can't wait to get to the field house at 7:00. I complain, but I always can't wait to coach. One way or another we will work to be ready for the challenges we will face on February 23.
