BANISHED TO CY-BERIA

I have had the week from cyber Hell. My computer has been having issues with certain programs lately.  Maybe they (programs and computer) have been together too long.  Anyway, the email program I depend on so much has been one of the problem children.  I did not attempt to further screw things up by trying to fix it myself.  The old Flip would have done that, but the later day Flip always brings in real professionals to do it for him.

To make a long story as short as my email address list now is, all information that had been stored in my email program has gone up in cyber smoke, disappeared in the very thin air of cyberspace.  This gonzoed information included my most precious email group lists that I had so carefully compiled over cyber time.  I will be able to painstakingly reconstruct much of it, but I'm sure a few names will still be missing in action when all is said and done.

ONE FLU OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST

Everyone in my family got the flu this week, too.  That's been fun around the house.  I was the last to contract, but certainly not the least affected.  It has been an all-inclusive sort of influenza.  I felt at times like I was part of the old Firesign (radio) Theatre comedy bit where an individual was injected with a disease, and then he had to guess what it was from the symptoms that came over him, and he had to do it in an allotted amount of time or he would not get the antidote.  It was all done in a game show sort of format.  I used to think it was funny.  I have been reminded (thanks Tony) that the actual name of the "bit" was "Beat The Reaper". Anyway, name an ugly flu symptom, and it has likely visited me during the last week.

GAME READY?

Back to lacrosse, as a team we have very far to go before we get anywhere.  I know and accept this.  In terms of the number of hours that we have worked together so far in 2005, we have barely scratched any kind of practice surface.  Just the same, it is starting to feel like we need to play a real game.  Likely we are not game ready, but often the real game experience is invaluable to me in determining exactly where the heck we are.
