Coach Flip Naumburg's Journal
Tuesday, October 29, 2002
It cost me $14 to upload my journal from the hotel room on Sunday. A two minute long distance call. Ouch! Sunday was a dream slow day for me, though. V-e-g-e-t-a-b-l-e. I'm happy that I did
not have to scrape the team up and get them to the plane Sunday morning, as I had in the past. This time, by Monday morning they were lined up, ready to go home. In a word, the team was pretty
much "bankrupt" by then, in every sense of the word. Vegas, baby.
I pretty much stayed in my "jammies" all day Sunday. I wrote (see below), I watched the Broncos beat New England, and then game 7 of the World Series. Later, I got dressed, went
out, ate Italian, and lost my alloted $20 to the slots at the Flamingo, which aren't apparently as "loose" for me as they are for others. Even so, it was a fairly cheap trip for
me personally, except for the $317 I spent for a mini-van that was driven for a grand total of about a mile. No one gets out of Vegas clean.
Today is the 73rd anniversary of Black Tuesday.
